Introduction

Mara Maisha Camp is a luxury tented camp just 4.5 kilometers from Kenya's Talek Gate of the renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. As a sister property to Kibo Safari Camp and Kibo Private Wing in Amboseli National Park, it offers guests an immersive safari experience in the heart of the African savannah.

Location

Mara Maisha Camp is approximately 250-280 km from Nairobi, depending on the route taken. The fastest way to reach the camp is by flying from Nairobi to a nearby airstrip, such as Ol Kiombo (45-minute drive), Mara Serena (1 hour), or Keekorok (1.5 hours). For those who prefer an adventurous road trip, the drive from Nairobi to Mara Maisha Camp takes approximately 5-6 hours.

The journey follows a 3-hour paved drive from Nairobi to Narok, then a 1.5-hour rough, scenic stretch to Sekenani Gate, and finally a 30-minute drive to Talek Gate, with the camp located 4.5 km away. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended, especially during the rainy season, as some sections of the road can be challenging.

Number of Rooms / Tents / Cottages

Mara Maisha Camp features 40 fully furnished, self-contained tents designed to cater to various guest preferences, including 20 Singles/Twins, 10 Doubles, and 5 Family Tents, each with two ensuite rooms accommodating up to five guests. Every tent is equipped with a flush toilet, hot shower, mosquito nets, clothes rack, carpet, writing desk, and wash basin, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Children of all ages are welcome at Mara Maisha Camp.

Children under 4 years sharing a room is on complimentary

Children 5 to 12 years sharing a room is 50% of the adult rate

If an own room is required, 75% of adult rate

Children sharing with adult, child pays 50% of adult rate and adult pays half of the double room rate

Adult sharing with 2 children, each child pays 50% of adult rate and adult pays half of the double room rate.

Children aged 13 years and above are considered adults

Between 60-31 days prior days prior to arrival dates will incur 15% of the quotation

Between 30 - 16 days prior to arrival date will incur 30% of the quotation

Between 15-1 day (including NO-show) prior to arrival date will incur 100% of the quotation.

The facilities at Mara Maisha Camp were spectacular. The tents are truly luxurious and well appointed. The staff and the food were wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer then just 1 night here. The views from the lodge are spectacular too..
